Hivemind 'Thoughts'

And like that, another Cincy Fringe is in the books. I had no idea of what exactly to expect from this process when we started discussing ideas. As the world shifted suddenly shifted to digital and we decided to continue on I had even less idea how things would work or what the show would look like. Performance Gallery and Solasta Theatre Lab are two incredibly talented and creative groups of theatre makers. I think few people would have found the material we did. Especially as we suddenly switched from being a group of live performing artists to amateur filmmakers. I want to give a big thank you to Erin Carr, Daniela Nenova, and Regina Pugh for inviting me to this process.

There have been a few reviews of the show to come out. I think City Beat's review is fair and valid. This show definitely had an "arthouse theatre" vibe which was cool and unexpected. But as the story continued it became fragmented and a bit confusing. Depending on how you take it this review could been seen as "bad," however I see it in a different way. Hivemind was a piece of experimental theatre created in less than ideal circumstances. Despite that we created a show that while flawed was a creative act none-the-less. I learned so much in this process, and it has given me a great foundation for the creation of future virtual theatre productions.
